The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival is the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the United States. This year’s Sakura Matsuri is on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm in the Capitol Riverfront/Yards Park neighborhood, right next to the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro station - right after the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade.
The Sakura Matsuri features over 30 hours of performances on 4 stages, interactive Japanese cultural exhibits and vendors, cooking demonstrations, over 20 vendors of Japanese and Asian food; Kirin Ichiban beer gardens and a Hakutsuru Sake Tasting Pavilion.
The Sakura Matsuri is produced by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC.

We'll have 2 entrances to the Sakura Matsuri at the following locations. Purchasing a ticket at the gate is $10 for adults, free for children 12 and under and is cash only the day of the Matsuri. ATMs will be located at all entrances.

✿ Metro: The Sakura Matsuri is just across M Street, SE from the Department of Transportation exit of the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro station - just follow the blossoms from the platform! If you're coming from the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, We're only 3 stops down the Green Line from the Archives-Navy Memorial stop at 7th and Pennsylvania Avenue.
✿Capital Bikeshare: There is a bike dock right next to the Sakura Matsuri at 1st & N Street SE, and several others in the neighborhood. Ride on down from almost anywhere in DC!
✿Parking: There is also plenty of parking in the area, and you can even reserve it! Click here to reserve a spot at a Colonial Parking lot nearby!
✿DC Circulator Bus: This $1 bus runs every 10 minutes from Union Station to the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro Station!
