Saltstone Ceramics

Started in 2015, Saltstone Ceramics is the home studio and creative enterprise of Sarah Steininger Leroux. Sarah has a bachelor’s of arts degree in ceramics and sculpture from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana, and a masters of fine arts degree in organizational leadership from Seattle University in Seattle, Washington. Sarah has a varied background in art and nonprofit work – working in two production ceramic studios, as an art center teacher, starting a small clothing design company, collaborating on a small arts fundraising organization, and working as a manager and director at several Seattle-area nonprofits for over fifteen years.

In 2015, Sarah took the plunge and left her day job at a local nonprofit to start Saltstone Ceramics. She offers group classes on a ten-week rotating basis, private instruction and workshops, studio rental for people with a basic working knowledge of the ceramic process who are interested in pursuing their craft outside of the classroom setting, and firing services for bisque, low, and high-fire ceramics in an electric kiln and a crucible-style gas kiln.
Ten-week class blocks are $300
Private instructions is $40 for a two-hour session
Studio rental is $200 per month or $15 per hour
Prices for workshops and other special events vary
