A licensed N.D. attends a four year graduate-level naturopathic medical school and is taught the same basic sciences as a medical doctor (M.D.), with additional emphasis on disease prevention, clinical nutrition, homeopathic and botanical medicine, psychology, and physical medicine. A naturopathic physician takes the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX) so that he or she may be licensed by a state or jurisdiction as a primary care physician.
I align with the following principles, which are the foundation of naturopathic medical practice:
-The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae)
-Identify and Treat the Causes (ToIle Causam)
-First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere)
-Doctor as Teacher (Docere)
-Treat the Whole Person (Tolle totum)
-Prevention (Preveniere)
