Samaritan House

Samaritan House is Hampton Roads’ trusted domestic violence resource offering services to stop violence with education and training, safety planning and court assistance; and services to heal violence with counseling, support groups, children’s programs and more. Samaritan House is Virginia's largest emergency housing provider serving the community since 1984.

Located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and accredited through the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance.

Victim Advocacy
The Victim Advocacy Program helps families and individuals protect themselves physically and legally through referrals, one-on-one intervention, court accompaniment, and counseling. Advocates help design safety and prevention strategies and make connections with community resources. Education & Outreach
While Samaritan House is dedicated to providing immediate services and shelter to clients in need, we are equally as devoted to the prevention of domestic violence and homelessness in our community. Our Victim Advocate and Prevention Education programs present free workshops and trainings to middle school, high school and college students; the medical community; law enforcement; the faith-based community; civic organizations; the military; and the general public. We host awareness campaigns throughout the year and participate in legal advocacy efforts on issues related to domestic violence and homeless prevention.

Community Support Group

Connection Point of Virginia Beach is a centralized information and referral center developed by the Department of Housing and Neighborhood Preservation to assist individuals and families that are homeless, at imminent risk of being homeless or are confronted with a housing crisis. Callers are provided with information, screening, and direct referrals to local agencies that can assist with emergency housing and financial assistance. Phone lines are open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m..
