Currently under a million dollar major field renovation and facilities improvement/upgrade, the SBSC has gone by many names since the City first acquired the property. Some of these names are Patton Park - North, Patton Farms, San Bernardino CYSA-South Municipal Soccer Complex, and San Bernardino Municipal Sports Complex.

In August of 1996, the City of San Bernardino, along with the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Bernardino, entered into a joint development agreement with Empire A/G Recreation, LLC for the removal of existing structures and the construction of a public recreational facility on the property consisting of sixteen (16) soccer fields, ancillary buildings, parking and related landscaping. A secondary lease was entered in November of 1996 with CYSA-South San Bernardino Soccer Foundation. This lease was entered into in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Joint Development Agreement (San Bernardino Municipal Sports Complex) by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Bernardino and Empire A/G Recreation, LLC dated 19 August 1996. Both agreements had a term of twenty (20) years, but t the beginning of 2003, the City effectively ended the lease agreement with CYSA-South San Bernardino Soccer Foundation and took over what is now referred to as the SBSC.

Nestled at the base of the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California, the SBSC provides a year-round venue ideal for youth and adult sports competitions, amateur and professional events, camps and training sessions. The SBSC is a 47-acre facility designed for soccer tournaments and practice. With 17 top quality playing fields and countless amenities, the facility is ideal for Regional, National and International tournaments. The SBSC is strategically located at the crossroads of the I-215 and I-210 freeways, visible and easily accessible with designated exit and surface street routing sign. The Complex has served as the site for the USYSA Regional Championship as well as headquarters for State and National Cups, the Tide Cup and Olympic Development Program training. Facility rentals are available for one field or all 17 fields, for a single practice, tournament weekend or an entire season of play.
