San Francisco General Hospital Foundation

San Francisco General Hospital Foundation is a 501(c) 3 charitable support organization. By raising private support to augment public funding for Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (Zuckerberg San Francisco General), the Foundation is a model for successful public-private partnerships. Privately raised funds are used for patient services, facilities, equipment purchases, and for research efforts. The Foundation is entirely self-sustaining.

As the City’s only Trauma Center (Level 1), Zuckerberg San Francisco General is a crucial asset to all residents, commuters and visitors in San Francisco and northern San Mateo Counties. Zuckerberg San Francisco General is a leader in emergency response efforts, prepared 24/7 to respond during any type of emergency. Zuckerberg San Francisco General is also the City’s medical safety net treating more than 100,000 patients annually, serving the underserved and providing all patients with culturally competent services, regardless of ability to pay.
