San Gabriel Beefmasters

In the Early 1900's C.C. Parker started his career as a rural Texas cattle buyer leaving his home by horse, early in the morning and traveling some 20 miles each day purchase cattle and hogs to be loaded on a local rail car and sent to the Houston Packing Company. When the local auction sale came to town there was no longer a need for his services and the family concentrated on a cow/calf operation and commissioned hog buying for major packing houses such as Houston Packing Company, Caduhy and others. In 1982 the family bought 20 Beefmaster bulls to go thru the upgrading program. By 1990 the entire cow calf operation was Beefmaster cattle. In 2000 to improve hybrid vigor San Gabriel Beefmasters started crossing these cattle with Charlois bulls. These crosses are used today as our recips. Our goal is to produce superior genetics through selective artifical insemination, embryo transfers, natural cover and carcass evaluations.
