Santa Fe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art that utilizes throws, positional control, and submissions to neutralize an opponent. The emphasis is on technique as a means to deal with size and power. To achieve superior technique, which is the goal of the Jiu-Jitsu student, one must be focused, disciplined, humble and creative.

In Addition, SFBJJ offers:

Muay Thai - the art of 8 weapons (2 a piece: fists, elbows, shins and knees). It is a highly developed striking martial art and the National sport of Thailand. It is a perfect complement to Jiu-Jitsu.

MMA - we have a small but growing MMA team that practices 3 to 5 days a week depending on upcoming competitions. Our training sessions are available for anyone to watch, and after commitment to regular classes, one is welcome to help us in our training and to eventually compete.

Cardio Kickboxing - fun class that combines striking technique, bag work, jump rope, plyometrics, isometrics, calisthenics, and any other lung-busting torture we can come up with. All you need is a pair of MMA gloves and some clothes that you don’t mind getting sweaty.

Kids Classes - We offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for children ages 5 to 11. Kids Basic focuses on a small set of fundamentals, drills and games, while Kids Advanced has more technique and more sparring. We have graduations for the kids every 6 to 8 weeks, in which they are tested on certain techniques in order to ascend to the next belt level.
