USDA Farm ID: FL58240 Raising Katahdin Hair Sheep for breeding, meat, pets, and projects. The sheep are grass raised with hay and a some supplemental grain year round. I don't worm unless they need it (which so far has been never). The current flock has tested negative for OPP. They have annual vet visit and CDT vaccines.
Katahdin are a medium sized, hair sheep (don't need shearing) that are disease and parasite resistant. Some are naturally friendly and some become friendly with exposure. Katahdins appeal to local purchasers looking for a heavier sheep.
As I progress, the farm will have chickens and bees. I am reading about heritage seeds rather than just mono-culture seeds to make the farm as year round for our area of Florida as possible. Come visit!
