The Santo Volunteer Fire & EMS Department proudly serves a 114 square mile area in the southeastern portion of Palo Pinto County. We are located approximately 61 miles west of Fort Worth and approximately 192 miles north/northwest of Austin.
The department operates out of two stations and has six units - Engine 1302, Medic 1303, Brush 1305, Brush 1307, and Rescue 1308.
Santo VFD’s membership is made up entirely of volunteers who respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to alarms, fires, motor vehicle accidents, public assistance calls, etc. These men and women possess certifications ranging from Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) (First Responder) to Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic and freely offer their skills, time, and talents to provide protection and peace of mind to the residents of Santo.
As is emblazoned on our equipment and apparel, we do it “So That Others May Live”.
