CIPO is a condition in which the body behaves as if there is a bowel obstruction in the absence of a physical obstruction. The most common symptoms are nausea, vomiting, abdominal distention and pain. "Over the last several decades, awareness of pseudo-obstruction has increased dramatically within the medical community.
