The Sardis Volunteer Fire Department located in Sardis, Ohio Monroe County, is a relatively small, entirely volunteer department established in 1951. While small, our department’s primary response area expands over four townships (88 square miles) consisting of Lee, Ohio, Jackson and Green, and five surrounding communities consisting of Sardis, Duffy, Hannibal, Fly and Laings. Aside from those areas the Sardis Volunteer Fire Department responds to calls for assistance in other remote counties such as Monroe, Washington and Belmont counties in Ohio, as well as Wetzel County in West Virginia. The entire area covered by the department is located in the rural Appalachia area.
