More about Seacamp Association, Inc.

Seacamp Association, Inc. is environmental education program located on Big Pine Key in the unique tropical environment of the Florida Keys. We offer residential programs for elementary, middle, high school, college and adult groups from September through May. From June to August we offer 18 day residential camp for teenagers ages 12 to 17, one week residential camp for ages 10 to 17, and daycamp program for youth ages 10 to 13.

Field programs are conducted on boats utilizing snorkeling and SCUBA diving (SCUBA is offered exclusively during the summer residential camp). Shore trips utilize wading and kayaking. From offshore to upland environments, programs include instruction on the ecology of coral reefs, seagrasses, sponge flats, mangroves, sandy and rocky shores, and terrestrial communities. It is located near the most extensive coral reef, Looe Key, in the continental United States in the middle of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.

Seacamp's summer programs offers courses in marine science, SCUBA diving, sailing, snorkeling, lifeguarding, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, and creative expressions. At Seacamp, teenagers have the opportunity to enjoy an interactive Marine Science learning experience, develop skills, gain confidence and have fun! Campers may take two to four activities per day, and each camper may select his/her own schedule for the session. Our staff consists of trained professionals in marine science and qualified instructors in SCUBA, Aquatics and Creative Expression programs.

Seacamp Association, Inc. was formed in 1966 as a not for profit 501(c)3 environmental education organization. Seacamp has been accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) since 1968. It is Seacamp’s mission to educate its staff and participants about the environment and conservation through experiential field based programs. Since 1966 we have educated over 300,000 participants. Our organization is committed to offering the same quality educational experience to the next 300,000 participants.
