Search for Change was incorporated in 1975, beginning with a small, six-bed residence located in Peekskill, NY. Since that time, the program has grown to offer varying levels of services, Residential & Vocational, to best meet the needs of the clients we serve.
Residential:
Our Congregate Treatment and Apartment Treatment programs are licensed by the Office of Mental Health. Program participants are assisted in developing their own personal recovery goals and treatment plans, based on the principles of psychiatric rehabilitation and the agency’s belief in recovery.
These services are transitional in the nature and help individuals identify and reach their own personal level of independent living, as they define it. Skill development and training is provided in areas such as:

Whether you are looking for help planning your job search, carrying out your job search, or maintaining employment, the Search for Change Vocational Team will be there to help and support you throughout your journey. Participants are assigned a job developer who will assist in generating appropriate job leads. Onsite job coaching and support is available for those who are interested.
