Seed-Harvest Music Academy

We are certified music educators in the state of Alabama. We began teaching during College at the University of Montevallo. We were born to teach. Disseminating information and knowledge into students to produce proactive thoughts and feelings about themselves and others was our mission.

However, when we were employed by a public school system, that excitement quickly took a turn for the worse. We were constantly caught in a bureaucratic river of educational experimentation and had practically no freedom to choose our own teaching methods or practice our own educational philosophies.

We had dreams of changing lives, but were told to do so we had to leave all the broken education systems in place. If you want the world to change, then you have to do something different - this was made impossible by the political system that public education has become.

So, we created our own school. Music is one of the only synergistic methods of growth that takes place in the area of cognitive development for a student. When you play an instrument - you use both hemispheres. Therefore, what better vehicle for developing proactive thoughts and emotions in students than through musical development?

In essence, Music Education is too important to pass on for young students.

We do encourage that you, if this message has resonated with you at all as a parent, student, musician, or teacher, to do some research into the benefits of psychological and social developments that result from a proper education in music.
