Serenity Within Retreat

Our home, aptly named 'Serenity Within' long ago by family and friends, offers an extraordinary atmosphere for a tranquil ocean retreat.

This custom, two bedroom home has spectacular ocean views, and was built with relaxation and affordable luxury in mind. The home offers views from the living room, front deck, and our one-of-a-kind roof top deck with glass railings, and a Jacuzzi.

Some of our favorite activities on the 500 square foot roof top deck: BBQing and then dining on our granite patio table top and wrought iron furniture; experiencing a 'birds-eye view' of spectacular sea life - whales, dolphins, sea otters and seals; sunbathing or reading on the secluded deck; and/or taking a private jacuzzi first thing in the morning or while star gazing after a long day.

And now, the rest of the house:
The upstairs living area consists of a dining room with seating for eight, a custom kitchen with marble countertops and all the amenities, and is part of the open living area.

The living room is equipped with a 50' HGTV, stereo, surround sound, DVD player (and a small library of DVD's) and is decorated with a custom three piece sectional, coffee table, end tables, and local art. We have added a charming 2nd daybed, near a view window, for reading a good book, taking a nap, or to offer an occasional overnight guest.

Just off the living room is the front balcony/deck, decorated with a wrought iron & granite table and four chairs. Mornings are a great time to enjoy the deck, while sipping your coffee or having breakfast.

Downstairs, you will find the bedrooms and baths. The Master Suite has a gas fire place, a kitchenette with a coffee pot and a small refrigerator, 30' flat screen television, and a comfortable queen size bed. A matching twin daybed has been added and can be used as a lounging couch or an additional sleeping area. All our beds have high thread count linens.

The second bedroom also has a comfortable queen size bed, a 30' TV and a bookcase with books, board games and craft materials.

We have two custom bathrooms - both with marble vanities and marble tiles. One bathroom has a deep, jetted tub, perfect for soaking tired muscles and relaxing after a long day. Take time out of your busy schedule to enjoy your private spa, complete with 'Serenity Within' custom aromatherapy products made with pure essential oils. Samples of our body lotion, bath gel, and sea salts are provided for your pleasure.

Our second bathroom has a large marble shower area with two shower heads. Choose the pressure that is right for you.

There is no garage but we offer parking in the driveway or in front of the house, on the street.

Take a very short walk from your front door (less than 150 feet) to the Pacific coastline, Boeker Cove, and the beautiful bluffs of Shell Beach. Located on a dead end street, Boeker Cove offers a rare opportunity to view sea otters and their young frolic just off the shoreline, in their natural habitat. There are two benches at the end of the street where neighbors and visitors stop to watch the surf crashing against the bluffs, and then roll again out to sea. Its also a great place to sit with a glass of wine and watch our awesome sunsets.

Just steps away, you can continue along the path, where you will find yourself enjoying the quaint village of Shell Beach.

This house is not for everyone. It is cozy and intimate, just the right size for a romantic get-a-way or luxurious retreat. The marble kitchen and bath counter tops, the Italian ceramic tile floors, and the fabulous decks beckon adults. We love children, but this home is not child proof. We have two sets of steep stairs the little ones could fall down.

The house is offered as a weekly or monthly rental. In rare occasions, we will rent the home out for three or more days, in between longer term tenants.
