More about Seven Sense Festival

The fourth annual Seven Sense Festival (2017)will be held at Swiss Park / Swiss Hall (719 Lynn Street, Louisville, KY 40217) on Aug. 18 and 19. A select amount of advance passes for the whole festival will cost only $7 and will go on sale Tuesday, March 7 via Ticketfly.com.

Here’s the rundown:
LOCATION
We have decided to move from our original location on S. Preston Street to Swiss Park (less than a block away) to offer our guests, vendors and neighborhood a better, more comfortable experience. Late August in Louisville can be hot and, at points, extremely hot. The temperature, coupled with the black asphalt our guests trek up and down could be quite uncomfortable. Swiss Park offers a large, open grassy area with trees providing shade and room to sit and relax (chairs/blankets welcome), while also enabling the festival to stay in its beloved Germantown/St. Joseph neighborhoods.

ADDITIONAL DAY
Hosting the event at Swiss Hall enables the festival to appease the concerns of the residents of S. Preston Street. Set-up and tear down of past events has caused traffic issues and has been inconvenient for residents - along with a host of other issues. These factors made it nearly impossible to effectively grow the festival and to add additional days. In addition to the usual all-day Saturday event, we will be starting the festival on Friday, August 18 at 5pm.

TICKETS
Seven Sense Festival is a benefit for local non-profit organizations. In years past, the festival has been free, while also benefitting Boys and Girls Haven. Organizers, sponsors and entertainers have carried the financial burden of enabling the festival to be free. Charging $7 in advance (and similarly nominal amounts as the festival approaches), enables organizers to take care of some of the festival’s expenses, while hopefully donating much more to its beneficiaries. This will also enable the festival to better compensate its artists and to bring in artists with increasing notoriety.

The festival will continue to feature as many as 40 local, regional and national acts on outdoor and indoor stages - on the Swiss Park / Hall premises, as well as including Zanzabar, who has been involved with the Seven Sense since its inception.

Confirmed bands, artists, vendors and sponsors will be announced throughout the coming months.
