Education
We offer opportunities in environmental education and recreation for kids and adults of all ages. Learn practical skills in a hands-on workshop, plan a field trip for your class or scout troop, stop by for an expert lecture or community gathering, or plan your own adventure. Topics range from wetland ecology and storm water management to how to create your own backyard wildlife habitat.

Preservation
SHADOW has placed 97 acres surrounding Shadow Lake under protection. This preserves rare and valuable habitat, including a 5,000-year-old peat bog, that has a direct and significant impact on both human and animal life.
Restoration
We work to continuously improve local hydrology, animal habitat, and environmental and water quality through research, planning, and the use of natural succession forestry. Specific ongoing projects include: planting native trees and shrubs, eradicating invasive plants, and creating beneficial habitat and hydrology features.
