More about Shasta County Child Abuse Prevention Coordinating Council

Shasta CAPCC serves as an umbrella for a wide range of projects throughout Shasta County that offer community outreach, youth development, family support, and child abuse prevention education (such as child abuse reporting workshops) and awareness activities.
Family Resource Center (on Bechelli) offers case management, parent education, diapers and a clothing closet. Drop-in services are available Mondays, or call to make an appointment. Services are free for all caregivers of children up to age 18.
The Pathway Parent Partners Program provides case management, hosts family nights at local preschools, and provides evidence-based parenting education. Children and families are identified through assessments, self-referrals, and preschool attendance records.
The Community Parent Partner Program serves families with children 0-5 referred from Shasta County Children and Family Services. Parent Partners work with low-risk abuse case families and connect them with community-based organizations such as counseling, drug rehabilitation and other family-strength companies.
The SafeCare Program is an evidence-based parent-training curriculum for parents who are at risk or have been reported for maltreatment. Trained professionals work with at-risk families in their home environments to improve parents' skills. Program components include Parent-Child/Parent-Infant Interactions, Home Safety, and Health.
The Triple P - Positive Parenting Program is a parenting and family support strategy. Triple P strategies help parents develop a positive relationship with their child, increase desirable behaviors, and teach new skills and behaviors.
Anderson Teen Center - Established in 2001, the Anderson Teen Center provides a safe and positive environment for youth in the after-school hours. The teen center has been a main focus of partnership activities for the past 10 years. Under the close supervision of the teen center staff and AmeriCorps Members, the teen center offers activities for youth in the 7th – 12th grades including drop-in recreational activities, leadership and community services opportunities, homework help and computer/internet access, as well as small group mentoring.
