Shekinah

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Presence and Higher Ground Ministries have come together to teach children and adults interpretive dance technique and movement Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. Classes are held at Holy Presence Episcopal Church at 355 N. Kepler Rd., Deland. Suggested donation is $1 per person per class if you are able (to help cover costume expenses). Classes are approximately one-hour in length.

Classes are led by Pastor Jean Brissey, who has taught interpretive dance for 19 years. Pastor Jean’s dance team, Wings of Praise, was featured internationally on God-T.V. with John Arnott. Jean has also danced before thousands at Daytona’s Ocean Center and has trained scores of children in Florida, on the Lakota Indian Reservation in Bull Head, S.D. and in several cities in Honduras. The children’s dance team, Precious Hearts, has also touched many through outreaches to Children’s Homes, Nursing Homes and during Homeless outreaches.

The dance troop Shekinah (which means God’s abiding presence) will be ministering in dance to glorify God throughout the community.
