Kim Shelton began practicing law in 2006 after graduating, cum laude, from Vermont Law School. Following law school she began working for South Carolina Legal Services, a statewide non-profit law firm where she represented clients in a variety of legal matters including domestic litigation, probate administration and litigation, creation of wills and advanced directives, property litigation, Social Security disability appeals, and Veterans' benefits appeals.
Kim is a member of the South Carolina Bar, District Court of South Carolina Bar, South Carolina Charleston County Bar, American Bar Association, and South Carolina Women Lawyers' Association.
Kim has been earned several awards for her work. In 2013, she was awarded the Ellen Hines Smith Legal Services Lawyer of the Year Award by the South Carolina Bar Foundation and South Carolina Access to Justice Commission.
In 2012, Kim was awarded with the South Carolina Legal Services Attorney of the Year Award. In 2010, she was awarded the Attorney Advocate of the Year award by the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
