Shem Creek Presbyterian Church

Join us Sundays at 10:30am for fellowship and worship. We meet at The Darby Building in the Old Village (302 Pitt Street).

The spiritual fabric of Shem Creek Presbyterian Church is woven together through a fusion of REFORMED WORSHIP, COMMUNAL DISCIPLESHIP, and GOSPEL MISSION.

We believe that Shem Creek Presbyterian Church is called to lead families in biblical, Reformed worship every Sunday. Our worship should not be a tribute to historic Presbyterianism, but rather a robust and lively expression of our flourishing faith as rooted in Scripture and the Confessions of the Reformed Church.


LEADERSHIP

The two men God called to begin this work in Mount Pleasant are Ben Carver and Charlie Phillips, who have been friends since they were ten years old.

Ben began his work in the ministry as a pastoral intern at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC. Afterwards, he moved to Johns Island, and accepted the position as Director of Discipleship at Johns Island Presbyterian Church. During his three years at this church, he was able to work with young families and be involved in every area of church ministry. Moreover, this position allowed him to develop his abilities as a preacher and Gospel mentor to adults as well as teenagers. More specifically, his three years opened his eyes to see there is an urgent need for Evangelical Presbyterian churches in the Lowcountry.

Charlie's ministry experience began when we accepted the call to pastor students at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. He spent the next ten years serving at two other Presbyterian churches working with youth, young adults, and elders to provide biblical teaching and God-centered worship.
