Shenanigans

FIRST AND FOREMOST WE ARE A FAMILY RESTAURANT. EVEN THOUGH WE SERVE BEER AND LIQUOR, OUR FOOD SALES ARE 90% OF OUR BUSINESS. WE ARE NOT A "BAR" AND WE ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN BEEF O' BRADY'S OR APPLEBEE'S.

HERE IS OUR STORY:

Brian and I started Shenanigan's back in December of 1996. Starting with no money and raising Jake, at the time was only 2 months old and Kyndra at the age of 4. Times were very difficult. We had nothing handed to us to get on our feet. It was either make it or break it with the little cash that we had. The week before we actually opened, the business was built, but we had no funds left. We had to get some kind of money generating. We decided to get a cash advance on a credit card just to buy beer. So, for the first 4 months, we just sold beer. It was so bad that I do remember finding a $20 bill in the parking lot. That bought us hamburger meat to feed the family for a week. After months, we finally got enough money together to start purchasing food. The menu was limited. Shrimp basket, chili, wings and hamburgers. But this kept us going. One day one of Brian's friends that used to go to Kahootz showed up. He asked us why we didn't sell chicken fingers. We told him that we could not afford the $100 to buy the case of chicken. This man gave us a $100 bill and told us to buy the chicken. This is how the fingers were added to the menu. This is obviously a very short story of how we started. I could write 10 books on this place. We are proud of what we have accomplished thanks to all of our friends and customers.
