Ashiatsu Deep Tissue

It is the most luxurious yet therapeutic massage on the planet and should be performed by only highly trained barefoot massage therapists graduated from AOBT/NCBTMB Certified therapists (Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworks).

Ashi(foot)atsu(pressure) is the Japanese term of "foot pressure". It is oriented from thousands of Asian cultures and now it is a western version of ancient form. The application of this barefoot massage technique uses deep compression effleurage strokes by the therapist's barefoot that glide over the body. Bars are used above the head for balance and lubricant is essential for its purest application. By combining flowing force and incorporating push, pull, pumping effleurage movements, the results relieve symptoms of chronic soft tissue damage and create a structural change in it.

Deep Tissue

This massage releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through long slow strokes and deep finger pressure on tensed areas. This technique improves body alignment and freedom of movement. If you enjoy massage work with a fair amount of pressure but find deep tissue uncomfortable at times you may want to request firm Swedish massage for a portion of your session.

Prenatal

Our Earthite Pregnancy Cushion is constructed out of CFC-free urethane foam and Natursoft™ upholstery for exceptional comfort and support. This unique support cushion is made for any stage of pregnancy and anyone who can’t lay comfortably on their stomach. Specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies, laying face down allows our therapists to completely relax those tense upper and lower back muscles, ease sore spots around your hamstrings and hips, improve circulations and mobility, and just make you feel like a new mother.

Swedish

The most commonly offered massage technique. Swedish features long strokes and kneading of the muscles. It is used primarily for full body sessions to promote full relaxation, circulation, and to relieve muscle tension.

Thai Bodywork

The receiver may be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the massage, but deep static and rhythmic pressures form the core of the massage. This is also used as a post workout recovery massage to stretch fascia, increase mobility in order to speed up healing and recovery time.

Reflexology

To schedule an appointment at Shiatsu Renu, please call the spa at 817.442.4788. Guests may also book online, 24 hours a day.


Please arrive no later than 10 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment. This time allows for a stress-free check-in, a change of clothes, and a few moments to relax. We kindly ask that you turn off your mobile phone upon arrival. To accommodate every guest, we may shorten appointment times due to late arrivals depending on the bookings of that day.


Cancellations: We do not require a credit card to be on hold for your appointment. However if you do need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask you to give us advanced notice as a courtesy to our staff.

Tips on Gratuity: Many of our members and guests with promotional offers have asked for guidance in regards to gratuity. If you are pleased with your service, a customary 15-20% gratuity, based on pre-discounted, standard pricing is suggested.


Medical Conditions: Please advise the staff of any medical conditions or allergies you may have prior to your service. Your health and well-being are of the utmost importance to us. We reserve the right to reschedule your appointments if the service may pose a threat to existing health and skin conditions.
