Shine Fire & EMS

Founded in 1962, Shine Rural Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, Inc. has provided protection to the citizens of Shine Township located in western Greene County, NC. In 1969, the department added an ambulance to provide medical services. The all volunteer staff provides fire protection, extrication, and Advanced Life Support to a 20 square mile area along US HWY 13 South. We operate with 44 members, 2 Engines,1 Tanker, 1 Rescue, and 1 EMS Unit and average 275 calls to service per year.
