Short Elementary School

Mrs. Beatrice Short is Short Elementary's namesake. Mrs. Short taught for 49 years overall. She taught at Johnson Station Elementary for the majority of her career. Johnson Station School was an active school for seventy-six years in the community. A new elementary school was much needed. As the doors closed at Johnson Station School, the doors opened at Short Elementary in the fall of 1970. Mr. Larson, the last principal at Johnson Station, became the first principal of Short Elementary. The school's dedication was held on February 28, 1971.
