SIENNA MERCATO is a 3-story restaurant "marketplace", located at 942 Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh’s historic Cultural District. Each floor boasts a unique, yet complementary dining destination; Emporio: A Meatball Joint, Mezzo, and Il Tetto: Rooftop Beer Garden.

Executive Chef Matthew Porco, oversees the culinary direction and menu of each floor to provide quality, upscale-casual dining at affordable prices.

Emporio: A Meatball Joint
A high-energy, bar oriented, casual Italian eatery is located on the first floor. Brick, steel, and distressed wood stand out upon entering the restaurant.
The menu primarily focuses on meatballs presented in many forms with a variety of sauces. Guests can custom order a number of sandwiches, sides, soups and salads with their choice of meatballs and sauce. The bar features classic cocktails, an extensive draft beer selection, and a select wine list. A selection of flavored Italian ices and crème sodas are available as well in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions.


Mezzo, Italian for “middle”, is located on the second floor of Sienna Mercato. Hardwood floors, brick, and an exposed wood ceiling will give the room a warm, intimate, and comfortable feel. Guests seated in the front of the restaurant can dine in booths and tables overlooking Penn Avenue through open-air garage-style windows. The small wine bar is located nearby with unique craft cocktails and a vast wine list.
The menu features artisanal pizzas, Italian cheeses, housemade charcuterie, pastas creative and traditional Italian entrées.


Italian for “the rooftop”, Il Tetto is the top floor of Sienna Mercato. The beer and wine garden is be open year round due to its retractable glass ceiling that provides beautiful views of Pittsburgh’s skyline. Guests can enjoy libations and light food at either the grand bar or tables under the skyscrapers of Pittsburgh.
Lighter fare, such as cheese and charcuterie, pickled vegetables and beef carpaccio make up the menu at Il Tetto. Guests will choose from craft cocktails, a large draft beer selection and offerings from the wine list at Mezzo.
