Sigma Alpha Epsilon (South Dakota Theta)

What better way to meet great new friends in college than to join a fraternity, but wait! Not only will you make great new friends, you will open the door to exciting new experiences, scholarship opportunities, and community involvement. Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the largest social fraternity in North America with more than 300,000! instated members and with that comes thousands of successful alumni for you to utilize when the time comes to start finding a job or career. Locally founded in 1971 South Dakota Theta chapter of SAE alone has over six hundred alumni in every variety of careers, many of whom still live in or around South Dakota ever ready to sit down and chat with a brother about future plans and goals and how you are going to accomplish them. Sigma Alpha Epsilon being the largest social fraternity boasts a diverse group of men from all walks of life creating a great experience for the career bound man. SAE Men strive to live their lives by the word of The True Gentleman, and learn valuable skills for life during and after college.
Members also have the opportunity to hone leadership skills by attending one of the countries finest leadership schools. Every summer thousands of brothers from all over the country gather on a cruise ship for four days of workshops, networking, and making great new friends.

A part from the national leadership school each province holds a leadership school. Province Tau which consists of chapters in ND, SD, NE, IA, & MN holds its leadership school every November.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon has an open recruitment process so you are aloud to pledge whenever you feel the time is right, however it is better to pledge at the beginning of the semester because once you pledge you are then required to go through the pledge classes which are either in the fall or the spring. Your pledge ship is one of the most fun and memorable times of being part of SAE. You form an everlasting bond with your pledge class and your new brothers. Initiation is in the spring semester.
