Silver Lake is a busy recreational area for the Town of Wilmington. The area offers two beaches, Main Beach (off Burnap St) and Baby Beach (off Grove Ave near Main St). The area also provides two parks Fullerton Park (off Grove Ave off of the Main Beach) and Landry Park(off of Main St). History wise, Silver Lake was a get away for many city residence. They would take the T down and stop at the train station on the other side of the street. Woods replaced the old station but the pathway to the beach is still visible today.
There is plenty of swimming, fishing, boating, or just soaking up the rays on the beaches. Many residence and non-residence alike enjoy the area. However there are numerous problems that people complain about. Anything from loud music to kids hanging out after hours, from parking to smoking, to trash to hours. This page is set up to hear these complaints. We want to hear your problems and complaints down there. We want to hear your suggestions on what to improve, what you would like to see down there or any solutions you may have to fix any of the issues down there
It is in the works to try to work on these issues. We are working on bringing these issues up to the town and then work with them on fixing the issues. Your imput will only help make Silver Lake a better place to go to. PLEASE though, serious posts only.
In addition, This page will provide updates, postings of rules and regulations and any changes of those, and any events going on in these beaches and parks or any future town properties related to the Lake
