Simpatico Coffee

Founded in 2010 by Alex Fink, Simpatico is a coffee roaster that aims to restore ethics to an industry that has become nontransparent. All of our beans are imported from the mountainous rural state of Oaxaca — long known for producing some of the world’s finest coffee. All of our 100% Arabica coffee beans are traditionally grown and harvested. Once our coffee beans leave the farm, the beans are mechanically sorted to assure that only 1st class beans remain, providing a pure taste devoid of fillers and flavor enhancers. Coffee is currently the fastest growing segment of the beverage industry, with the commodity price for coffee practically doubling since October 2010. With all this growth comes the incentive for companies to cut costs by exploiting the farmers who cultivate the coffee beans as well as mass-producing chemically altered low quality coffee. Unlike these companies, Simpatico Coffee will never use chemicals or additives to manipulate the taste of our coffee.

An aspect of Simpatico that sets us apart from our competitors is our ability to provide the coffee farmers with the most benefit, all while keeping the price of our products low. What enables Simpatico Coffee to do this is the elimination of all middlemen. We buy our beans directly from the farmers and process, export, import, and roast them ourselves. We pride ourselves on our system and believe that it is more fair than Fair Trade. We pay more than Fair Trade to the farmer and we eliminate much of the paperwork and hassle the farmer has to deal with as well. More money for the farmer ensures the survival of their farms, and therefore the survival of the rainforest terrain on which these farms exist.
