SIMPLE CAFÉ & RESTAURANT
was opened in 2006 by owner and operator, Chef Samia Behaya. Since then, the restaurant has remained a neighborhood staple for those seeking a familiar dining experience outside their own home. The menu is made up of original recipes inspired by the cuisine in the Chef Samia’s home country of France and influenced by her background in Algeria. All of the ingredients are sourced locally from Hudson Valley Harvest and the bread is baked daily and served fresh.

BEP at SIMPLE CAFÉ & RESTAURANT was opened in 2009 as a pop up experiment between Chef Samia Behaya and Chef Ane Nyugen. The idea behind “BEP”, or “kitchen”, in Vietnamese was to provide a different cultural experience in an already recognizable space. The concept was a hit, and popularity quickly grew enough to equip the Vietnamese eatery with a loyal following of it’s own.

BERLYN65 was opened in 2012 as a collaboration between Chef Samia Behaya and Serap Bahadir. Inspired by her travels to France, Chef Samia saw an opportunity to offer more than just a dining experience to her customers. A friend and long time stylist, Serap, had an interest in importing home goods & jewelry from her native Turkey and thus, Berlyn65 was built. While the boutique mainly focuses on Turkish towels, blankets, and throws, the inventory is always evolving to include new and talented local artists.
