S.K.I. Karate Dojo

S.K.I. Karate Dojo in Merced, CA is owned by Sensei Amilton Barboza. Sensei Barboza is a 4th degree black belt and has a university teaching credential in Shotokan karate from Long Island University, NY (1994). In 2004, Sensei Barboza was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame during ceremonies in Los Angeles (http://www.usnmat.net/new%20inductees.htm).

Sensei Barboza has a heart for children. As a proud father of a wonderful son and daughter, and with over 30 years of Shotokan teaching experience, Sensei understands the needs and dreams of children. You will find that he is positive, sensitive and encouraging towards both children and adults, and he believes that when it comes to character and integrity, things are black and white (just like the traditional black belt's gi!). Honesty, respect for others, and humility are always taught in his Dojo.
