More about Skyview Honey

Our honey is produced locally from right in Northeast Nebraska, mainly in the counties of Madison and Cedar. We do not pasteurize or heat process our honey, which can be detrimental to the health benefits of natural honey. Our honey is strained, and bottled. That’s it! It’s ready for you to enjoy!

Buy Local Honey!
Locally collected honey provides a variety of local flavors. honey that you will find at a grocery or other chain store is mixed honey. The mixing takes away from the nuance of flavor that you will find in local Honey.

If you don’t know the beekeeper, How do you know that you are buying pure, local honey?

Beehive Adoption
Honeybees have had difficulty surviving lately. Pesticides, disease and parasites have plagued honeybees. The U.S. honeybee population has dropped from it’s peak of 5.4 million colonies in 1954 to only 2.4 million in 2007. At Skyview Honey, we avoid use of chemical treatments that can result in the weakening of the honeybee colony. providing more natural means of helping the bees survive is our goal. Our bees are kept year-round in Nebraska. they are not shipped out to other states for pollination services. this promotes a bee population that is Hearty and able to withstand harsh winter conditions.

If you are interested in helping maintain and grow our honeybee population, we participate in a beehive adoption program. For $45, you can adopt 1/12 of one of our beehives for one year. The adoption fee includes an adoption certificate, a picture of your hive and one pound of honey at the end of the season!
