Slav Zinger has been photographing since his childhood. His father, an award-winning photographer, mentored Slav through his early years. After moving to Chicago from Ukraine, his natural skill helped facilitate his growing business of over 25 years. Prior to his independent endeavor, Slav worked as a lead photographer with the legendary Fran Kapp in Highland Park. He was humbled to have received numerous accolades that have pointed to his dedication of stand-out imagery and disciplined customer service.

When asked about his work at event shoots, he says, ” Most of all, I want you to have fun. While you’re having fun and letting the day’s events unfold, I am able to capture the emotions, laughter, and tears that make your event one of a kind. I am privileged that I am a part of a family’s history. I am simply an artist that is always finding a new way to see and I am on a constant search for the perfect image. That one great shot…”

Slav specializes in both, traditional and nontraditional event and fashion photojournalism. Zinger combines his passion of fashion and portrait photography with his background in event and wedding photography to create beautiful memories. His creative eye, style, and personality have made him one of the most highly regarded wedding photographers in the Chicagoland area. Slav travels both domestically and internationally for events several times a year. “I enjoy the excitement of on site photography. I expect the unexpected and with that I am able to catch those real moments that friends and families form when celebrating during their events,” says Zinger.

Renowned for his finished artwork in the form of custom event albums and/or framed photos, all post-production and design work is personally handled by Slav. Due to this hands-on commitment to quality and originality, a personal connection with his clients is very important to him.

Over the past couple of years, Slav has embraced his creativeness and has been working in his studio to create editorial work. His work has appeared in print publications consecutively ever since. Fashion and fine art photography have been his inspiration. He is now actively pursuing agencies to work directly with models for fashion editorials. Slav has recently added Teen Fashion Photo shoots to his services, “It’s a great way to celebrate with their friends and each party attendee is able to take home individual shots of themselves along with the group party shots. I am able to do studio or on location parties. It is always exciting to see who shines behind the camera and I enjoy watching my clients transform into their own true beauty.” With the click of a shutter you just might be his next muse.

Slav Zinger and his wife Angie, owner of Spa Angeliza in Glencoe, have enjoyed their personal and business life in the north shore. Along with two French bulldogs, Elliot and Bell, their dream of a house with a garden in the suburbs has become a reality. Their children and grandchildren keep them both happy and very busy. Slav captures his family celebrations just as he does when a client invites him to document their special day.
