Our programs focus on cultivating each person’s innate ability to heal, helping participants explore meaning and maintain hope—even in the face of life’s challenges.
We offer classes, wellness programs, and lectures at our U Street center that encourage wellness for the whole person: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Join us for healthy cooking and nutrition classes, creative arts workshops, therapeutic yoga and stress reduction, as well as lectures and talks with experts. We also offer weeklong and one-day integrative healing retreats for people with cancer.
Join us at our program space on U Street to learn more about our work and to tour the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery - our nonprofit gallery space that features exhibitions that explore community, global, and personal healing.
Smith Center also runs several community programs, including a Community Patient Navigation Program and an Integrative Patient Navigation Training for new and experienced navigators and a hospital-based Artist-in-Residence program at Walter Reed.
