Smith Performance Horses was established from a love for horses and a desire to make dreams a reality. We will offer any level of training, horses for sale and on consignment.

Mark grew up around horses and the team roping arena. By the time he was 20 he was spending countless hours a week on horseback at Fritsch Cattle Company. This time taught patience and ranch skills while improving training methods and roping ability. Training horses comes naturally as his has a passion to ride a supple partner that is willing to please and perform correctly.

He is accomplished at behavior modification of equines that are barn or buddy sour, aggressive horses, has corrected head sets, taught proper body movement, calmed antsy roping and barrel horses, started colts that were previously untouched.

Mark's biggest accomplishment to date is a four year old grade black mare. Bought as a long yearling she was untouched. "Whoopy" has a stunning handle and amazing stop as a 2&1/2 year old this team won $1700 in a single month in the roping pen on the heel side. While continuing her training daily "Whoopy" is also gentle enough to be ridden by our 5 year old son.

Mark is a cowboy in the true sense of the word. Respectful and honest, kind and understanding.
He puts his faith in God, is a wonderful husband and loving father.
