Smithfield Baptist Church

In 1802, a mere twenty-six years after the birth of our nation, nine men and women of pioneer stock made time to worship God and establish a church on Floyds Fork near what is now the intersection of Routes 22 and 1861. In 1872 the church moved to its present location and became Smithfield Baptist Church.

Membership has grown from the original nine to over
one hundred actively worshiping. Forty pastors
have served to equip the people for the challenges of life
and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Smithfield Baptist Church is a Christ-centered fellowship
of believers who seek to serve the Lord by ministering to
our community and the world in Christian love. Our desire
is to provide opportunities for worship, fellowship and
growth in discipleship.
