The character of our Smoke BBQ features a guy whom the owners have known for 40+ years and call Papa John. It began way back in the 70's when Papa John and his relentless passion for smoking BBQ went from a few friends on late Friday afternoons to much larger events such as Christmas parties, pilot club events, air show, etc. He worked with ingredients until he perfected his own rub seasoning and sauce. He also started to compete at the somewhat local cook-offs with great success. He now has 34 trophies in his collection and is still competing at the cook-offs.
With his mentoring and support "Smokehouse 61" proudly features "Papa John Farquhar's" rub seasoning and sauce with our Smoked BBQ menu.
