Youth sport participation has seen a decline in the recent years across leagues of North Texas. So, what could be the blame? Is it finances, interest, time, safety concerns, or all of the above?

My name is Paul Zuniga and I started my volunteer coaching career in 2006 with Cleburne Football League, in a town of 30,000 people located southwest of Forth Worth, Texas about 40 miles.

An era when reaching out to anyone was done via phone call, an email here and there, a website, but for the most part it was a phone call. So you can imagine or remember how difficult it was to give/get information to/from parents or the community. Specifically when the league had important information to give out like, sign up dates or locations, practice information, events, fundraisers, game times and schedules, etc., especially when you didn't have the phone number of the athlete you were looking for.

So how have leagues survived over the years? Word of mouth, winning traditions and good old brand consistency. The brand of a product that is represented well, tend to outlast father time and weather economic storms. What does a league have to do in order to boost their image and compete with other leagues?

The answer is in Social Media, which gives us the ability to provide a well rounded brand story and keep up with neighboring cities that have established leagues or create new ones that need their presence known.

My volunteer time coaching, mentoring young children and serving on a league board has helped me understand that youth organizations need more than just word of mouth participation. They need a voice in helping them grow. I understand the logistics a league goes through to maintain, recruit, build, operate and most of all communicate with the community about its existence.

I created this marketing business with the intent of helping and assisting leagues across North Texas, Texas and eventually the Nation by bringing their information to the masses leveraging Social Media outlets.

We all have one thing in common, helping the youth succeed. There are many talented youth organizations that need help promoting the league so that the board focus can be on the children and not the technical aspects of marketing.
