SoCON is a fusion of events, sponsors, and participation. It is inexpensive, family friendly, and open to the public. Attractions include vendors galore, gaming tournaments, a costume contest, panel speakers, food trucks, and much more for all!

Please consider carpooling with other attendees. We have added three new parking lots but it is still limited.

GAMING TOURNAMENTS
Alien Games will be sponsoring our gaming this year! There will be free demos and promos for all games offered. Yu-Gi-Oh $5/tournament, Pokemon $4/tournament, Magic the Gathering $12/ draft tournament or free standard tournaments, Vanguard $5/tournament, Weiss Schwarz $5/tournament, Buddyfight $5/tournament.

COSPLAY CHALLENGE
1:00pm-2:00pm
A maximum of 3 teams of 5 people will compete against each other and race against the clock to design and create a cosplay with the materials provided to go with the surprise theme. You can sign up for the Cosplay Challenge at the Cosplay Contest sign up table.

COSPLAY CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES
The judging for the costume contest will be held at 2pm. The cat walk will begin immediately after judging is finished. The categories and awards are:

Handmade 12 & under: 1st place
Handmade 13-17: 1st place
Handmade 18+: 1st place, runner-up
Store-bought all ages: 1st place, runner-up
Group all ages: 1st place

Costumes must be 50% handmade or more to be considered handmade. No skits during judging or walking. No nudity. No profanity allowed including messages on signs or clothes. No political or religious statement during the cat walk. Do not use any sort of projectile. Nothing must leave your person while you are on the cat walk. No flashpots, explosive devices, or similar special effects are to be used. All prop weapons must conform to the SoCON Weapons Policy (see below). Costumes must be self-contained. Each contestant may only enter one costume into one category of the competition. Large elaborate costumes must be handled by the contestant and/or assistants the contestant brings to help. SoCoRec will not be able to provide assistants. Due to the unpredictable size of groups, a prize for each member cannot be guaranteed. Anyone who violates the rules may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the facility.

SPONSORSHIP
Would you like to donate prizes to be given away at the event? Sponsor logos will be used to announce sponsors on social media and will be printed on backdrops for photo opportunities at the event. Sponorships also include a waiver of booth fees. For more information please PM the page.

VOLUNTEERS
We need volunteers to make SoCON happen! A commitment of 2 continuous volunteer hours earns you a free entry to SoCON. Please PM the page for ways you can help out at SoCON.

PHOTOGRAPHERS
Freelance photographers are highly encouraged to attend SoCON due to the high level of artistic creation and photo opportunities to build portfolios. You will be dealing with the cosplayers, vendors, and patrons directly so be sure to have plenty of business cards on hand for them to contact you after the event.

PHOTO CONSENT AND RELEASE TO TULSA COUNTY
By posting photos to the SoCON event page or any other affiliated Tulsa County Parks or South County Recreation Center page, you are giving full consent for photos to be used in any media release or material.

You’re here to have fun. We’re here to make it possible. For that to happen, SoCoRec has a few rules that are necessary for the safety and comfort of everyone. Please comply so that you and everyone else can enjoy the convention.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Attendees must respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. SoCoRec reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the admittance and/or badge of any attendee or vendor not in compliance with this policy. Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate the nearest staff member, so that the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner.

WEAPONS POLICY
No functional weapons are allowed at SoCON. No real firearms or other weapons. Weapons must be completely fake. All costume weapons are subject to prior approval by staff at the weapons check area and must be compliant with the following:
All costume weapons must be inspected at the entrance of the facility (location subject to change). Projectile costume weapons must be rendered inoperable. Functional (real) arrows are not allowed. Costume swords must be tied to your costume in such a way that they can't be drawn. Security will escort you to the security station for inspection if your costume weapon has not been checked. If you do not want to have your costume weapons inspected or tagged, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring your costume weapons to SoCON. You may be removed from the building if you do not comply.

PET POLICY
No Pets Allowed. If you have pets, including iguanas, parrots, boa constrictors, or other non-human critters, please leave them at home. SoCoRec will not allow animals into the building, except for service animals.

REST AREA AND LOUNGE
No sitting in vendor area and walkway aisles. By order of the fire marshal, sitting in the aisles is not allowed. Chairs and lounges are located throughout SoCoRec for your convenience.

SMOKING
No smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping products and devices, inside the facility. There is a designated smoking area outside the entrance to SoCoRec.
