However, she continued her extraordinary academic career and went on to acquire a bachelor’s degree of arts in physical education from Long Island University - CW Post Campus. The university is a distinguished higher education facility in Brookville, Nassau County, in the state of New York. Socoro stays active in her community and in nursing as a member of the United States Army Medical Department Regiment at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
