The Sons of the American Legion is a non-political, non-sectarian civilian organization.
Membership Eligibility:
All male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of the American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during-
World War I: April 6, 1917- November 11, 1918
World War II: December 7, 1941- December 31, 1946
Korean War: June 25,1950- January 31, 1955
Vietnam War: February 28, 1961- May 7, 1975
Lebanon and Grenada: August 24, 1982- July 31, 1984
Panama: December 20, 1989- January 31, 1990
Persian Gulf: August 2, 1990- cessation of hostilities as determined by the U.S. Government.
Or who died subsequent to their Honorable Discharge from such service, shall be eligible for membership in the Sons of the American Legion.
