More about SoundSmith Audio

Founded by Scott "Scooter" Smith and Lacey Black, SoundSmith Audio provides top-of-the line equipment paired with decades of experience in the live sound industry. The result is clear, balanced sound, provided by a professional staff dedicated to bringing a positive, stress-free presence to your event. From small theatres to large outdoor venues, we've got you covered.

Scott "Scooter" Smith has worked as a sound technician and engineer for many notable venues and artists, from Swallow Hill in Denver, to the Pagosa Folk & Bluegrass Festival, the Pagosa Folk Festival, the Moab Folk Festival, and the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College in Durango (among many others). He is the head Sound Engineer at the Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, providing front of house and/or monitor mixes for national touring acts. His experience is vast and varied, making him a first choice for anyone putting on a professional music production. He also has experience on the other side of the speakers; as a member of Celeste Krenz's Goodbye Band, Scott preformed on the Tim O'Brien produced Slow Burning Flame which reached number 11 on the Gavin Americana chart.

Lacey Black is the production manager of SoundSmith Audio. She is the schedule coordinator and handles all the logistics. You'll occasionally see her setting up and tearing down, assisting with microphones, but most of her work is done behind the scenes. She is also a professional musician, performing regionally in Southwest Colorado on piano and vocals.
