The YUL South Asia Collection is new and constantly growing. Its strengths lie primarily in social sciences and humanities. Specific subject areas of growth include British colonial South Asia, data and statistics (including census data), environmental science, missionaries and religious studies. Materials in the South Asia Collection are mostly in English, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, and classical languages (Sanskrit, Pali, and Prakrit). Most of the books, journals, and reports are integrated in the Sterling Memorial Library or CSSSI stacks, or are housed at LSF. Primary source material is mainly housed in the Beinecke, Manuscripts and Archives (Sterling), or the Microform Reading Room (Sterling). Select material can be found digitized online.
