South Johnston High School

South Johnston High School is a high school for grades 9–12 located in Four Oaks, North Carolina, near Benson. The school was built in 1969 in order to integrate the area's "all-white" and "all-black" schools. As of the 2015/2016 school year it is in its 47th year of operation. The principal is Dr. David Pearce, a former principal of Four Oaks Elementary School.The school is located in the Southern portion of Johnston County. Middle schools that feed into South Johnston include Benson Middle School, Four Oaks Middle School, and Meadow School .SportsThe school mascot of South Johnston is the Trojan, and the school colors are green and Vegas gold.SJHS offers a variety of sports which includes: Volleyball, American football, Cross Country, Wrestling, women's and men's Tennis, women's and men's Swim teams, Softball, Baseball, women's and men's Soccer, Golf, women's and men's Indoor & Outdoor Track, Cheerleading, and women's and men's Basketball. The men's Soccer team has been conference champions in three consecutive occasions (2009–2011). In 2009 the football team had their best season in school history. They made a run in the playoffs and advanced to the NCHSAA 3AA State Championship. They faced South Point in the title game but eventually lost.
