The South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society, Inc. is a non-profit organization originally founded in 1999 to help rebuild the historic Princess Theatre in the downtown. We’ve since evolved into a group whose sole purpose is the preservation of and educating the public of our local and regional history. We work with other organizations throughout the county, state and nation in saving parts of the past for future generations. We gladly accept donations.
The South Pittsburg Heritage Museum is operated by our organization and opened to the public in 2012. It features artifacts and photographs from the community and surrounding area’s past. These include Native American, Civil War, Industrial Boom Period, Churches, Schools, Industry, Sports, Individuals, Military and so much more. We even have research microfilm available.
