What We Believe:

What is truth? How do I get to heaven and what purpose does God have for my life? These are questions many people have surrounding the church. At the end of the day, truth is the only thing that matters.

All truth is drawn from God’s Word, the Bible. According to 2 Timothy 3:16 we understand that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

So now that we have established what truth is, what next? The one question that everyone wonders about at some point in their life time is this; “when life ends, what’s next?” Did you know that the Bible clearly answers that question? The answer to that question is this; “when life ends, what happens next depends on your decision to accept or deny truth.” Knowing and having peace with what happens after this physical life rests in the truth of Jesus Christ. Being that God’s Word is the foundation of all truth, Jesus is who we trust in for salvation. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” The Bible teaches that whoever believes in Jesus, shall have life that continues on after your physical death. The Bible calls it everlasting life. This means that you will spend eternity in heaven with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You may be wondering why Jesus is such a big deal. Philippians 2:5-11 says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

We see in Scripture that Jesus is actually God in the flesh who lived on the earth for 33 years. You may ask, “How can Jesus be God?” The Bible teaches in Colossians 1 that Jesus created everything and that all things consist by him.

Because Jesus is our God, we belong to him. When one receives Christ as their Savior, the Bible teaches in Romans 12:1-2 that we should live a life of dedication to His service.

The first way someone publically announces their commitment to Christ is witnessed during believer’s baptism. Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward decision. Romans 6

As a baptized believer in Christ, one is now part of the church. The church is not a place or meeting time, but actually a body of believers in Christ. Acts 2.
