South Washington Citizens for Progress

The South Washington Citizens for Progress Committee (SWC4P) has been established to campaign in opposition to the Operating Levy and two Bond Questions on the ballot November 3.

The entire committee wishes to call on citizens across the district to also sacrifice a bit of their time and treasury to join this worthy campaign to stop these wasteful ballot questions, which the school board carelessly wants to saddle us with.

This $525 per student Operating Levy and the two bonds totaling $142.5 million constitute a very poor example of how to manage our money for the children of #ISD 833. We must never forget, they are always watching.

The SWC4P is now actively working to get organized and to raise funds to be used by our committee to get our message out to the community.

We look forward to the upcoming campaign where we can demonstrate our positive opposition message needed to better secure the future of all stakeholders in South Washington County ISD #833. Anyone who wants to volunteer or donate to help get out the NO vote should email SWC4P2015@gmail.com.

WHY WE MAY HAVE TO DELETE/BAN SOME FACEBOOK “FRIENDS”
The South Washington Citizens for Progress Committee (SWC4P) will be pleased during this campaign to receive objective questions on our Facebook page and will do our best, as volunteers, to provide thorough answers.
At the same time we anticipate receiving less than objective questions from proponents, or worse, from those proponents who feign to us like they are still undecided. Some of these proponents will hold an assumption or a conclusion, without evidence and often emotionally driven, which they believe so firmly that it has become a fact or an absolute ‘truth’ to them. We anticipate there will be little to nothing we can provide them for objective satisfactory evidence, especially when we don’t share their assumptions or conclusions.
When this is the case we anticipate the parties behind such questions will rarely be able to objectively recognize the truth in our answers. As volunteers, we can exhaust many hours fruitlessly dialoguing with such parties without ever agreeing at a common starting point.
On other occurrences when we might make an honest mistake and after it is pointed out, we are pleased to correct it. But very little grace will likely be extended. In our experience, we have seen such corrections be impugned, without any evidence, as willful deception on our part.
Through past campaign experience of our own we’ve found at such points that future dialogue is less than productive. Often we’ll see proponents reduced to calling us names, impugning our character, etc.
Such occurrences are disappointing, are not helpful for the overall progress of our communities, and are not an efficient use of our volunteer time. At that point the Executive Committee of the SWC4P will retain the right to delete and possibly ban such Facebook Friends. Again, we remain committed to answering all objective questions with truthful answers.
