South Wellfleet General Store

Under new management and completely renovated inside and out, The Wellfleet General Store has a wonderful new vibe. Transformed from the rather crusty and dingy old store the new one is absolutely fantastic. The store has a wonderful main grocery store portion with mostly everything that one may need on their Cape Cod vacation. Attached to the main grocery store is the deli which makes great and tasty sandwiches at a great price. Also attached to the store is the new section which has the produce, gourmet cheeses, and gourmet foods. Not only does this section have a wonderful selection but the food is absolutely divine! And due to popular confusion by the many tourists that browse the shop, yes it is part of the store, and yes, you can pay for anything there that you got in the store. The newest and most amazing part of the store is the new open air produce market. The produce here is absolutely delicious and to perfect quality (and it's priced just as fine) so I highly suggest looking into that. Something else I find very nice about the SWGS is that a large number of the cashiers are local teenagers who live here all year making it great to ask for directions, or information about anywhere (They are also very good and friendly with what they do). By having a locally owned business with almost entirely ALL local employees it makes the perfect setting and new store. Now there is only ONE thing that I have heard people really complain about and that is that they do NOT carry Beanstock coffee, but however, I don't view this as a huge deal because in all reality it's nothing special, coffee is coffee to me. And the only reason I think people want the Wellfleet Blend by Beanstock is because it says "Wellfleet" in the name. ALSO something rather interesting and "important", when you are there and you see a young man with red hair and freckles (Patrick) He speaks french extremely well and allows for the place to become completely french friendly as he can assist the French/Québecois customers. In addition to French, he also fluently speaks Spanish. Well, to sum it all up, Great store, beautiful AC, has most everything you could want/need, and everything is just divine! Definitely stop in! :)
