I've always had a passion for being creative. I see the possibility of what something could be that others might overlook. Once I purchased a beautiful vintage buffet. The original varnish was tired and the piece had seen its day. My mother took one look at the buffet and exclaimed "why would you buy that?" She didn't see the beauty of what it could become. I, on the other hand, started thinking of ways to paint and restore it ... enjoying and appreciating the transformation along the way. Afterwards, it became one of my most popular and well-loved pieces.

So how did I get to where I am today with owning my own Store & repainting beautiful furniture and accessories? It all started with a creative mind and a love for beautiful home decor. I worked in Healthcare as an Executive for 20+ years while living in Florida. Although I always loved the people I met along the way, that lifestyle created a level of stress that never seemed to dissipate. I dabbled into my creative side on my free time and helped friends and family with projects they needed completed throughout the years. It was something I enjoyed immensely.

While visiting family in Texas, I came to a few realizations about the importance of life and not missing out on chances. I left that corporate world behind and decided to follow a passion. If I worked in healthcare for the first half of my life, why not become creative and share my passion for the second half.

Fast forward to March 2015, I took a huge leap of faith and opened my Store in League City. It has taken many turns over the last few years and I'm constantly learning and meeting new people. My passion for creativity is something I enjoy on a daily basis and I love sharing that passion with others. If you stop by my store, you'll find I'm always excited about sharing my knowledge of painting and providing tips and ideas to help you as well.

Here at Southern Traditions Home, we provide hand painted fine furniture and home accessories. A large part of our business is also painting furniture & accessories for our customers. Often times, we have tired or outdated pieces in our homes and I truly enjoy transforming those pieces to fit in even more nicely. I hope you'll stop by to see our beautiful Store or just to say Hi.
